STRIKE OVER! TOYOTA PLANT PRODUCTION TO RESUME FRIDAY

Production at Toyota South Africa Motors’ Prospecton plant in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal is set to resume on Friday 5 October after negotiating parties reached an agreement today.

The agreement resolves a wage dispute related to the implementation of a part of the 2010 National Bargaining Forum agreement. The detail of this agreement will today be shared with all staff members before their return to work tomorrow.

“We are happy that we could resolve the dispute in such an amicable and speedy manner and we look forward to returning to full production tomorrow,” says Dr Johan van Zyl.

Toyota South Africa Motors reiterates that at no point did the strike action become unruly, nor did any staff member cause malicious damage to property or harm to any person.
