South Africans put something of a brake on new vehicle salesduring the month of September 2012. New car sales were down 2% on August, but were actually up 1.4% on last September. In total there were 55 097 cars sold last month. This means the market is on track for a 600 000-plus bumper year, bar whatever unforeseen disasters.
The following list sheds some light on where the biggest volumes came from. We can see the usual suspects are perched at the top, showing no signs of even the slightest shift. One or two swaps have come about. Notably the Toyota Yaris is not listed in the top 10, something very unusual for this model.
