CHEVROLET UPGRADES CAPTIVA. AGAIN

General Motors South Africa has refreshed the Captiva SUVfor a second time since it was launched here. In addition to some styling changes, the vehicle now also has some extra interior kit. The Captiva is Chevrolet’s best-selling mid-sized SUV and they would like to keep the sales tickingaway.

Part of the change includes a new-look front bumper, fog lamp surrounds and front grille. While the last update made sure the car was more aggressive in its look, this time a crispier design has been put in place. What would a facelift be without work being done to the rear? For the Captiva we see a new bumper and sportier tailpipes, along with brighter LED taillights.

Some of the bits that will make the Captiva stand tall beside its rivals are the 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry with an accompanying start button, optional dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, leather seats and a tyre pressure warning indicator among others, all model-dependent.

Power is gathered from either a 2.4-litre Ecotec engine that makes 123kW and 230Nm of torque, or from a 2.2-litre turbo dieselmotor delivering 135kW and 400Nm of pulling power. A choice of 6-speed manual or automatic is available. Chevrolet claims 8.8 litres per 100km on the 2.4-litre, and 8 litres per 100km fuel consumption on the diesel.

The updated Chevrolet Captiva can now be ordered from your nearest Chevrolet dealership at the following prices:

Captiva 2.4 LT FWD manual (R322 100)
Captiva 2.4 LT FWD Automatic (R337 900)
Captiva 2.2 LTZ AWD Automatic (R443 000)
